What is a rugged tablet?

Rugged tablets are mobile computing devices specially designed to operate in harsh environments, where conventional tablets fail. They feature reinforced protection against shock, water, dust, extreme temperatures and intensive use.

Unlike consumer tablets, ruggedized tablets often meet military standards (MIL-STD-810H) and IP protection (e.g. IP65, IP67). They also feature industrial components: high-brightness screen, long-life battery, industrial I/O ports, and extensive communication options (4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC...).
