Overview 23.8" Marine Panel PC XTP24238D1 IP65 i5/i7 Fanless 9-36V 550 nits

At sea, HMI reliability is mission-critical. The XTP-24238D1 is a 23.8-inch marine Panel PC built for 24/7 operation on bridges, in engine rooms, control stations and supervisory consoles. It blends a 550-nit Full HD display, 10th-Gen Intel® Core™ computing and a fanless thermal design. The 9–36 V DC input with M12 locking, projected-capacitive multitouch (optional AG/AF glass), and a front brightness knob make it comfortable to operate across day/night duty cycles. With extensive I/O and a modular design (CPU board / I/O board), it drops into new or legacy marine architectures while simplifying service and future upgrades.

Readability and visual ergonomics for marine use

The 23.8” Full HD TFT-LCD provides 1920×1080 definition, 550 nits and wide 178° viewing, so synoptics, dashboards and overlays remain legible in bright cabins. The large canvas shows multiple critical views at once (alarms, trends, charts, cameras). Optional anti-glare (AG) minimizes reflections; anti-fingerprint (AF) eases cleaning. The front brightness knob is invaluable on the bridge, allowing instant dimming or boosting without diving into menus. Coupled with responsive multi-touch, operators get precise input with minimal fatigue.

High-performance, future-proof compute platform

With Intel® Core™ i5-10210U (4C/8T) or i7-10710U (6C/12T), the XTP-24238D1 handles real-time SCADA, logging, local analytics and security/video apps. Memory scales to 64 GB DDR4 (2× SO-DIMM). Storage options include 1× 2.5” SATA (HDD/SSD) plus 1× full-length Mini-PCIe for mSATA, enabling separation of OS and data or resilience strategies.
The system supports Windows 10/11, ensuring software compatibility across HMI/SCADA suites, diagnostics tools and remote access clients. Low power draw (27–29 W) and fanless design keep dust and salt out and reduce maintenance on long voyages.

Connectivity engineered for integration

I/O is tailored for marine control cabinets:

  • 4x GbE LAN to segment traffic (OT network, video, maintenance VLAN, remote access) and enable redundant paths.
  • 3x COM with COM1 RS-232 and COM2/COM3 RS-232/422/485 for PLCs, drives and legacy sensors.
  • 4x USB 3.0 for input devices, service keys, USB sensors, security dongles.
  • 1x HDMI to mirror the screen to a secondary display.
  • 2x SMA holes for Wi-Fi / cellular expansion via Mini-PCIe.
  • A remote power switch connector supports supervised start/stop sequences and controlled shutdowns.

9–36 V DC M12 power and robust fanless thermal path

Designed for fluctuating shipboard power, the Panel PC accepts 9–36 VDC through a locking M12 connector— mechanically secure against vibration and shock. The all-metal chassis functions as a heatsink, enabling fanless operation. With -10°C to +50°C operating and -20°C to +60°C storage ranges, the platform is fit for bridges, technical rooms and sheltered outdoor kiosks. The absence of moving parts cuts failure points and helps maintain clean internals in saline atmospheres.

Hardened mechanics and operator-first controls

An IP65 front, aluminum front panel and metal body withstand dust, splashes and cleaning. The front integrated power switch and brightness knob streamline routine operations without reaching into the cabinet. Supplied panel-mount brackets and VESA 100 compatibility cover arm, mast and flush installations. Qualification for vibration (5–500 Hz, 2.16 Grms) supports deployments in engine rooms and mobile equipment.

On-board and port-side scenarios

  • Propulsion/auxiliary supervision with real-time alarms and trends.
  • Security/video station using HDMI mirroring and segmented IP over 4× LAN.
  • Power management dashboards with event reporting and maintenance access.
  • Port kiosks where robust glass and AF help with frequent cleaning.
  • Workshops & labs for test benches, serial/USB acquisition and local logging.

Deployment and maintenance made simple

The modular split between CPU and I/O extends lifecycle: upgrade compute or revise field connectivity without rewiring the whole bridge console. Mini-PCIe slots open paths for wireless links or dedicated logging on mSATA. Service access is designed to reduce downtime while preserving sealing and mechanical integrity.

Focus: Modular CPU / I/O architecture: lifecycle at sea !

Marine assets operate over long horizons. Systems evolve in steps—software refreshes, added sensors, tighter cybersecurity, new reporting demands. Replacing an entire console is costly and disruptive. The XTP-24238D1 addresses this with a modular architecture: a CPU board and an I/O board that are distinct, interface-matched and serviceable.

This separation decouples compute performance from field connectivity. When application demand rises (local analytics, light AI, video correlation, encryption), you scale CPU (e.g., i5-10210U → i7-10710U) and expand RAM up to 64 GB without re-terminating cables. Conversely, if field buses change (e.g., RS-232 → RS-485 on new PLCs), the I/O board is the natural adaptation layer: 3× COM—COM1 RS-232, COM2/COM3 RS-232/422/485—already cover most needs, complemented by 4× USB 3.0, 4× GbE, and 1× HDMI for mirrored displays.

Modularity also curbs software obsolescence risk. With Windows 10/11 as the baseline for HMI/SCADA suites, a CPU or storage refresh often absorbs major updates without a platform swap. Mini-PCIe slots (Wi-Fi, cellular, mSATA) act as evolution valves: add wireless for dockside maintenance, a cellular modem for telemetry, or dedicate an mSATA SSD to logs to preserve the OS disk.

For maintenance, isolated modules ease diagnostics: a faulty serial interface doesn’t mean removing the entire Panel PC. Standardized inter-board links enable interchangeability, speed parts logistics and reduce MTTR. At sea—where vibration, salt corrosion and power glitches are common—minimizing intrusive interventions is a major reliability win.

Finally, the modular approach aligns with the platform’s power resilience—9–36 VDC input over a locking M12, remote power-on, and 27–29 W draw—matching modern bridge energy budgets. The result is a durable, upgrade-friendly, easy-to-service Panel PC that preserves your architectural standards while absorbing future requirements.
